Free · From today or any date · Weekends and holidays skipped
Find the exact date 3, 5, 7, 10, 30, or 45 business days from today, or count the working days between two dates. The calculator starts in Add mode, skips weekends, and applies only the holidays you enter.

Two modes, one working calendar
This business day calculator works in two modes. Pick Add to move forward or backward by a number of business days from today or any start date, or pick Count to total the working days between two dates. Enter dates as YYYY-MM-DD, choose the weekend pattern, load the U.S. federal holiday preset or paste your own dates, and save the settings with the result so another person can reproduce the same calendar.

Quick answers
These ranges assume Saturday and Sunday are weekends, no holidays are entered, and the start date is not counted. A weekend start can make the calendar-day shift shorter than a start on a working day, so use the calculator for today's exact result.
Business days to calendar days. When the start date is already a business day, each complete block of 5 business days spans 7 calendar days if no holiday intervenes. From Saturday or Sunday, the first counted business day is Monday, so the total calendar-day shift can be one or two days shorter. Any listed weekday holiday pushes the result to the next eligible business day.
Calendar days to business days. Counting the other way, 30 calendar days contain 20 to 22 working days depending on where the weekends fall and how many holidays you list. Use Count mode with both dates to get the exact figure for your range instead of an estimate.
3 business days from a Monday is Thursday, but 3 business days from a Wednesday is the following Monday because the count skips Saturday and Sunday. The calculator opens with today and 5 business days ready to calculate; change either value for another answer.
Calculate from today ↑By starting weekday
Read across from the weekday you start on. The table assumes a Saturday and Sunday weekend and no holidays; the calculator above applies your own weekend pattern and holiday list.

Starting on a weekend. When the start date is a Saturday or Sunday, the first business day counted is the following Monday, so 1 business day from Saturday is Monday and 2 business days from Saturday is Tuesday. The start date itself is never counted as one of the added days.
Whole weeks are stable. 5 business days from any weekday lands on the same weekday next week, and 10 business days lands two weeks out. Only counts that are not multiples of 5 change their calendar length with the starting weekday.
Each listed holiday inside the window pushes the result one working day later. For example, 5 business days from a Monday with one holiday in between becomes the following Tuesday.
Calculate with holidays ↑“Business day” is not a universal weekday
A Monday-through-Friday week is common, but it is not universal. Some organizations work six days; others use Friday and Saturday as their weekend; a shift schedule may not map cleanly to weekdays at all. This calculator excludes exactly the weekdays selected in the interface and makes that choice visible with the result.
Public holidays are equally contextual. A date may be a holiday in one country, province, city, exchange, school, bank, or company and an ordinary working day in another. Load the optional U.S. federal holiday preset for the start year or enter each relevant holiday as YYYY-MM-DD. Duplicate entries are treated as one date, out-of-range holidays do not change a range count, and a holiday already excluded as a weekend does not subtract twice.
The U.S. preset follows the Office of Personnel Management schedule for most federal employees on a Monday-through-Friday workweek, including Friday observance for Saturday holidays and Monday observance for Sunday holidays. It does not infer state, court, bank, exchange, employer, emergency, or one-off closures; add those dates explicitly and verify the governing calendar.
Eligibility and membership are separate tests
For a range calculation, first choose whether the start and end belong to the range. Each included endpoint must still pass the working-day test. Selecting “include start” does not make a Saturday count when Saturday is configured as weekend, and it does not override an entered holiday.
Use the smallest contract that fits
Use Days Between Dates when weekends and holidays should remain in the result.
Use the Date Calculator for years, months, weeks, or days without working-calendar exclusions.
Use the Time Duration Calculator for clock times, overnight work, and an unpaid break.
Use the Week Number Calculator for the ISO week-year and Monday-based week identity.
Do not use a generic result as an authoritative deadline. Courts, tax agencies, payment networks, shipping carriers, employers, and schools can define “business day” differently and can publish closure exceptions. Confirm both the rule and the current official calendar.
Common business day questions
With a Monday-to-Friday calendar and no holidays, 5 business days are 5 to 7 calendar days after the start date. The shift is 7 calendar days when the start is a weekday, 6 from Saturday, and 5 from Sunday because the start date is not counted.
Seven business days from today is 9 to 11 calendar days later depending on the starting weekday: from a Monday it is the Wednesday of the following week, and from a Thursday it is the Monday two weeks out. Select Add, enter 7, and the calculator shows the exact date for today or any start date.
With Saturday and Sunday excluded and no holidays, 30 business days are 40 to 42 calendar days after the start date. The shift is exactly 42 calendar days when the start date is Monday through Friday.
With Saturday and Sunday excluded and no holidays, 45 business days are 61 to 63 calendar days after the start date. The shift is exactly 63 calendar days when the start date is Monday through Friday.
Select Count, enter the start and end dates as YYYY-MM-DD, choose whether each endpoint is included, and the result lists the working days together with the weekend and holiday dates that were skipped.
Not under the default Saturday and Sunday weekend, but the setting is yours to change. Some organizations work six days and some regions rest on Friday and Saturday, so choose the weekend pattern that matches the calendar you are modeling.
No holiday calendar is selected automatically. You can load the U.S. Office of Personnel Management federal holiday schedule for the start year, including its standard Monday-to-Friday observed dates, or enter other governing holidays as YYYY-MM-DD values. Verify state, court, bank, market, employer, and one-off closures separately.
That date is excluded once and is not double-counted. The U.S. federal preset supplies the standard observed weekday from the OPM schedule. For a manual calendar, enter an observed weekday as its own YYYY-MM-DD value.
The selected endpoint options control whether an otherwise eligible start or end date counts. A weekend or listed holiday remains excluded even when its endpoint option is selected.
No. Deadline rules may specify cutoff times, jurisdictions, emergency closures, observed holidays, service methods, and rollover behavior. Confirm the controlling rule and official calendar before relying on a date.
